The Sensory Room Hoylake is for use by adults and children to benefit from the sensory resources it provides. There are 3 areas: A White Sensory Den, a UV Dark Room and a Social Meeting Area with aromatic planting and sensory resource baskets. All areas have been designed to be interactive and flexible in use.

Dark Room
The 7m2, UV dark room is 95% black out when the door is closed, creating an ideal private space for one-to-one or small group sensory work. Inside, users can enjoy exploring the interactive bubble screen, fibre optics and activity panel.
White Den
The white, 6m2, soft sided sensory den is 95% black out when the velcro door is closed, creating an ideal private space for one-to-one or small group sensory work. Inside, users can enjoy exploring the interactive borealis tube and fibre optics.
Social Area
Aromatic, tactile planting and a range of sensory resource baskets compliment areas of social seating for informal meetings, networking and catch up with friends. Colourful images can also be projected onto the walls and ceiling to add further visual effects.
Opening Hours and Hire Charges

The facility is usually available for private hire Monday to Friday 9am-9pm. Hire charges (subject to change):

1-2 adults £10 for 30mins, £15 for 45mins, £20 for an hour. 
3-6 adults £15 for 30mins, £30 for an hour.  
7-10 adults £20 for 30mins, £40 for an hour. 


Weekend hire may be possible, please enquire for availability.

The facility is closed on bank holidays and two weeks at Christmas, plus additional dates throughout the year.

All areas must be vacated promptly at the end of your session, in order for the next user to start theirs on time. Please allow enough time for this and plan your session use accordingly.
